‘Jump Start’ is the second single release for BATTERIE.

‘Jump Start’ is a fast energetic instrumental glitch pop electronica track by BATTERIE.

It’s the second single for BATTERIE following on from ‘Spring Step’.
The track features wildly syncopated interlocked live drum kit and percussion grooves, energetic synthesisers recorded though vintage guitar amps, and warm electric bass. A toy keyboard comes in with a whimsical melody over the whole kit and caboodle to top it off.
It was recorded in Protools in Sydney and mixed and mastered by the most excellent Bob Scott.

Debut Music Video – SPRING STEP

BATTERIE is very excited and proud to launch the music video clip for SPRING STEP.

The clip is a first time collaboration for Jared with Dancer Lo-Arna Evangeline Okan and Cinematographer Asher-Lily Green. The team collaborated in all areas from initial concept, location, costume, choreography, directing and editing.

A totally DIY production with the generous help of some talented friends whom BATTERIE is very grateful for their time.

BATTERIE goes portable on back of truck

BATTERIE will be playing for the Guerilla Gigs crew who are putting on a festival called “Reclaim the Lanes’ this saturday 17th March 2012 in Newtown. There will be other live bands, roaming sound systems, food and more in the laneways and parks of Newtown.

BATTERIE will be playing a set at 5pm in Camperdown park performing on the back of a truck to an expected audience of about 1000.

BATTERIE plays in big drum circle performance at Sydney Opera House lead by The Bordems drummer and Yeah Yeah Yeahs drummer

BATTERIE performed in the Sydney Festival show 41 Strings by Nick Zinner + Drum Circle IIII at The Sydney Opera House on 22nd January.

The massive drumming ensemble was put together from 20 local indie drummers and 2 synth players. The drum circle was lead by Hisham Akira Bharoocha (The Bordems) , Brian Chase (The Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and Ryan Sawyer (Thurston Moore)

The performance was workshopped and rehearsed with the New York guests and 20 local drummers from bands such as Seekae, PVT, Holly Throsby, Midnight Juggernaughts, The Mess Hall and included expressive improvisation, dynamic swells, and lots of tightly locked unison rhythms.

The sound of the 20 drummers in the Opera House concert hall was described by SMH reviewer Harriet Cunningham as “At full volume, sharing the Concert Hall with this band was a bit like having a vigorous body massage while sitting inside a fully operational jumbo jet”
